John Sherbert - Staff Instructor

John Sherbert is a highly accomplished Training Coordinator, currently overseeing the SWAT, Sniper, and Patrol Rifle curriculum at the esteemed North Carolina Justice Academy. With a strong law enforcement background, John served as an Entry Team Member and Sniper on the Emergency Response Team during his time as a sworn LE Officer with the Fayetteville Police Department.

Bringing over 25 years of experience in teaching and coaching Military, Law Enforcement, and Civilian clients, John's expertise is unparalleled. As a retired US Army Special Forces Master Sergeant, he boasts over 20 years of invaluable Special Operations experience. Additionally, John excelled as the lead Military and Federal Law Enforcement firearms instructor at Gryphon Group Security Solutions, focusing on pistol, tactical carbine, and precision rifle classes.

John's commitment to enhancing skills extends to civilians through his ownership and leadership of Method of Engagement Tactics, LLC. With a passion for elevating individual skill levels, John conducts open enrollment and private courses for those seeking improvement.

Beyond his impressive teaching background, John is an accomplished competitive shooter with over 25 years of experience. Since 2015, he has also taken on the role of match director, overseeing Precision rifle, 3-Gun and 2-Gun and at both Regional and National levels.
